Superhit decoit drama film 'Mera Gaon Mera Desh' which was released in 1971. The film was produced by Bolu Khosla and Lekhraj Khosla and directed by Raj Khosla. Main and supporting cast are Dharmendra, Asha Parekh, Vinod Khanna, Jayant, Lakshmi Chhaya, Asit Sen, Sudhir, Bhagwan Dada, Mohan Chhoti, Birbal, Manmohan, Dulari, Kedarnath Sehgal, Harbansh Darshan M. Arora etc. The composer was Laxmikant. Pyarelal and Anand Bakshi were the lyricists.
story
Orphan Ajit (Dharmendra) steals from the city and runs away to the village, the police chase him and come to the village, then Jaswan (Jayant) arrests Ajit and Dharmendra gets jailed. After being released from jail, Jaswant Ajit Brings him to the village and makes Ajit his son and brings him to the village and starts farming. Anju i.e. Asha Parekh meets in the village and Ajit falls in love with Anju at first sight. Everyone in the village is afraid of the terror of the village Jabbar Singh dacoit ie (Vinod Khanna). Ajit gets angry at the cowardice of the villagers and vows to fight the dacoit. Here to find out about the dacoit Jabbar Singh Ajit Nautanki Munni Bai i.e. (Lakshmi Chhaya) who sacrifices her life and duty, tells her mother that she cannot betray Ajit. Ajit tries to get dacoit Jabbar Singh arrested by the police with the help of Munni Bai. Does Jabbar and his companions are fired upon by the police and Jabbar Singh somehow escapes. But with the help of Ajit, the police arrest a dacoit. With the help of the arrested dacoit, the police raid Jabbar Singh's base, in which many policemen are killed and Jabbar Singh's gang escapes. Now Jabbar Singh threatens Munni Bai to give false news about the dacoit to the police, Munni Bai does not do so seeing the threat to Ajit's life, but Munni Bai's mother gives wrong news by giving the present whereabouts of the dacoit. According to this the police leave the village and the dacoits attack the village, Ajit confronts the dacoits. And Jaswant dies from the dacoit's bullets, the dacoits set Jaswant's house on fire, but Ajit escapes from there. Now Jabbar Singh kidnaps Ajit's girlfriend Anju and takes her to his base and writes a letter to Ajit. Asks to come unarmed. Ajit is helped by Munni Bai in kidnapping Anju and he starts hating Munni Bai, Ajit reaches Jabbar Singh's base unarmed and Munni Bai puts all the dacoits to sleep by mixing sedation in alcohol and Ajit and She saves Anju. The next day Jabbar Singh attacks the village with his gang. And Ajit single-handedly fights the dacoits with a gun and in this shootout, Munni Bai and Purnima, who Ajit calls her mother, are killed. After about 12 minutes of shootout and Ajit's fight, Jabbar Singh is killed and the film ends.
