Storyline

A well off Zamindar (Landowner) Kanta Prasad Gupta (Manmohan Krishna) from a distant town, visits Pashupatinath Sanctuary in Nepal consistently with his better half (Achala Sachdev) and child. In one of his visits, he loses his child in the milieu. He returns dispirited and his better half is very nearly madness. Data from Nepalese police lets him know that his child is dead. To save his significant other, his Munshi (Bookkeeper) Slam Lal Jeevan approaches a reception from an unfortunate group of Dinu (Nazir Hussain) and his better half Mamta (Sulochana Chatterji), who have two children Mohan and Sohan. Sohan is embraced. Hesitantly, the kid is parted with.

Mohan goes on Diwali to meet his sibling in the Chateau and is named as a criminal of fireworks that he and his sibling were playing with. His dad thumps him and Mohan takes off from his home. The family is left with none of their kids. Sohan develops to turn into a capable home chief of the Zamindar's domain. He goes gaga for a resigned Significant's girl, Bharati, they have come from the city (showing Calcutta now Kolkata) to spend their excursions. They have a family specialist named Dr. Mohan who visits them in their stay and impels envy in the core of Sohan. The caring couple fight with one another and Dr. Mohan drives them to a feeble house down the valley where his folks used to reside. He uncovers that his more youthful sibling was given to the Zamindars, whereupon the more youthful sibling, who is currently known by the name of Arun gets dubious and poses inquiries from his non-permanent dad, who provides him with a significant piece of falsehoods.

Gradually the past uncovers itself 17 years after the fact. Mamta is truly sick and requests that Dinu bring Sohan back. Dinu goes to the Zamindar's home where he meets a young fellow who distinguishes himself as the genuine child of the Zamindar, Suraj, (who has laid down a good foundation for himself as the genuine child of the Zamindar with help from a purported cleric of Pashupatinath Sanctuary) and illuminates him that Sohan has been given the boot. A crushed Dinu loses his memory and wanders languidly in the city of Calcutta, unfit to recall that anything. There, he is protected by Sohan and eventually the family meets, yet not before Mamta is dead. What occurs straightaway?
