Sunghursh is a 1968 movie coordinated and created by Harnam Singh Rawail. It depends on a brief tale Layli Asmaner Ayna in Bengali language by Jnanpith Grant winning essayist Mahasweta Devi, which presents a fictionalized record of grudge inside a thuggee clique in the sacred Indian town of Varanasi. It stars Dilip Kumar, Vyjayanthimala, Balraj Sahni, Sanjeev Kumar, Jayant, Deven Verma, Durga Khote and Iftekhar. The film was the final remaining one to see Dilip Kumar and Vyjayanthimala cooperating. They had worked in a few movies which performed well economically; nonetheless, not at all like their past joint efforts Sunghursh failed to meet expectations financially and was pronounced "Less than ideal" at box-office.
The music is by Naushad and verses for the melodies are by Shakeel Badayuni. Naushad and Badayuni had cooperated on many movies already and were "the most pursued" arranger lyricist team of the time in Bollywood. Sunghursh was prevalently mixed up to be an introduction film of Sanjeev Kumar.

Storyline
Bhavani Prasad is a strong Shakta minister at Kashi. Prasad, an enthusiast of the dark goddess Kali and a thuggee, strictly follows a training to kill rich explorers who stay in his pioneer guesthouse and offers them as a penance to Kali. Prasad's child Shankar doesn't consent to such practices, goes against his dad and chooses to leave the town with his significant other and their three kids: Kundan, Yashoda and Gopal. Prasad effectively takes Kundan with him to emulate his example and prohibits him from seeing the remainder of the family.
Youthful Kundan is presently being raised by his granddad Prasad, who wants to have Kundan as his replacement, top of a sanctuary and traveler guesthouse on the banks of the Ganges waterway. Prasad strangely murders his child and accuses his foe and nephew, Naubatlal. Prasad had before killed Naubatlal's dad. At the point when Naubatlal learns reality, he chooses to get payback, however Prasad kills Naubatlal before he could do anything. Naubatlal's family chooses to leave the town and settle down Calcutta where his two youthful children, Dwarka (Sanjeev Kumar) and Ganeshi Prasad, function as vendors.
