Aradhana  is a 1969 Hindi romantic drama film directed by Shakti Samanta, starring Sharmila Tagore and Rajesh Khanna. It won the Filmfare Award for Best Film at the 17th Filmfare Awards. Tagore won her only Filmfare Best Actress Award.Originally released in Hindi and dubbed in Bengali, 


Storyline


In Darjeeling, West Bengal, Indian Aviation based armed forces official Arun Varma sings "Simple Sapno Ki Rani" on an open jeep alongside his co-pilot Madan, while Vandana, the girl of a specialist Gopal Tripathi bashfully sneaks looks at him from a small train. After a short sentiment, they marry in a sanctuary without ceremonies and with just God as an observer. After which it begins coming down and they need to remain in a lodging, and lay down with one another. This is where Vandana becomes pregnant. Before long a short time later, Arun bites the dust in an air crash. His family will not acknowledge the unwed Vandana since her marriage with Arun was rarely formalized. In the interim, her dad likewise passes on, leaving her penniless. Vandana's child is at last conceived, she puts him up for reception with the goal that she can lawfully embrace him the following day yet she is compelled to allow a childless couple to take on him. Not set in stone to be a piece of his life, she acknowledges the obligation of turning into his caretaker. The kid is named Suraj. Her boss' brother by marriage Shyam shows up and desires for Vandana. He attempts to assault her when nobody is near, however Suraj shows up and wounds him to death to save Vandana. Vandana makes herself at home at the jailor's home. Suraj is harmed in an air crash like his genuine dad Arun however gets by. While he is recovering in the emergency clinic, Vandana meets Madan, who can say for sure that Suraj is Arun and Vandana's child. He needs to come clean with Suraj, however Vandana doesn't believe Suraj should realize that he is her child, dreading the outcomes. Some other time when Vandana isn't anywhere near, Suraj sees her journal where Arun's photograph is found.
