Bandhan (English translation: "tie" or "bond") is a 1969Hindi film directed by Narendra Bedi, starring Rajesh Khanna and Mumtaz. It was Bedi's directorial debut and the second movie with Khanna and Mumtaz together in the lead roles. The film grossed ₹2.80 crore at the box office in 1969-70.
Storyline
Jeevanlal, who is a hoodlum, lives in a little town in India. He is hitched to Sita and together they have a little girl Meena and a child, Dharmchand (Dharma)(Rajesh Khanna). At some point, Jeevanal burgles the Tehsildar's home, and afterward conceals the taken property with Dharmchand at the family home. At the point when the police show up, Dharmchand surrenders the taken property. Jeevanlal is captured, tracked down blameworthy and shipped off jail. Years after the fact, Jeevanlal stays irate at Dharma. At some point, Jeevanlal and Dharma battle about the offer of a cow. Jeevanlal strikes Dharma who takes up a stick with good reason. Sita intercedes, reprimanding Dharma for thinking for even a moment to go after his dad. She advises Dharma to leave. Dharma moves to Bombay, and looks for gainful employment with a structure project worker. He sends his reserve funds to his mom. Afterward, Sita gets a letter from Dharma saying that he is going to return. At the point when she goes to the bus station to welcome him she is informed that he has previously gone to the family home. At the point when she gets back, she is stunned to find her significant other lying dead in a pool of blood and her child remaining over the body with a bloodied hatchet. The police capture Dharma and he is hung being investigated for homicide. In the peak it is uncovered in the court that when Dharma arrived at home he found his dad attacking Gauri (Mumtaz). At the point when he attempted to save her his dad went after him and in resulting battle Jeevanlal falls on a hatchet and mortally harmed. However, when indictment demonstrated that Gauri was available at crime location and has really killed Jeevanlal, Dharma uncovers current realities to the court. The appointed authority absolves Dharma observing that the demise of Jeevanlal was a mishap.
