Gohar Mamajiwala
Gohar Khayyam Mamajiwala (19 November 1910 - 28 September 1985), otherwise called Miss Gohar, was an Indian vocalist, entertainer, maker and studio proprietor.
Early life
She was naturally introduced to a Dawoodi Bohra family. Gohar's dad's business practically fell and the family reserves were truly draining when a family companion, Homi Expert, working at the time as a chief for Kohinoor Movies, proposed that Gohar take up going about as a vocation. Her folks agreed.[citation needed]
Vocation
Gohar began her vocation at sixteen years old with the movie Baap Kamai/Fortune and the Imbeciles (1926), coordinated by Kanjibhai Rathod. The job of the legend was depicted by Khalil and the film was created by "Kohinoor Movies". The film was a hit. Gohar, alongside Jagdish Pasta, Chandulal Shah, Raja Sandow and cameraman Pandurang Naik began "Shree Sound Studios". In 1929, alongside Chandulal Shah, she established Ranjit Studios, which was subsequently known as Ranjit Movietone.
Later life and demise
She resigned during the 1970s and passed on in Bombay, Maharashtra on 28 September 1985.
