In 1947, Munawar acted in four movies Dard, Elaan, Andhon Ki Duniya and Naiyya. Dard was coordinated by Abdul Rashid Kardar under Kardar Creations. Despite no large stars being in the film, it ended up being a shock "melodic hit" at the case office. The legend of the film was Kardar's sibling Nusrat (Kardar), while Suraiya played the subsequent lead, with Munawwar Sultana as the principal heroine. Munawwar lip-synchronized three tunes voiced for her by Uma Devi, a Naushad disclosure. The tune "Afsana Likh Rahin Hoon" turned into a major success. Elaan gathered positive surveys for Munawwar.
