Seeta Devi
Himanshu Rai cast Smith, a Somewhat English Indian, in Prem Sanyas, the film which is better known by its English title: The Radiance of Asia. This was her introduction film as Seeta Devi, and it made her a star right away. Later she acted under the standard of Madan Theaters too.
Three of her best movies were: The Radiance of Asia, Shiraz, and Prapancha Pash. Each of the three of these movies were made through the coordinated effort of German movie chief Franz Osten and Indian entertainer maker Himanshu Rai alongside Bavarian organization Emelka. This remarkable set of three were associated with three unique religions and in view of three distinct accounts of Indian history/folklore: The Illumination of Asia depended on the existence of Buddha, Shiraz depended on development of the Taj Mahal and Prapancha Pash, better known by its English title A Toss of Dice, depended on a story from the Mahabharata. Seeta Devi was the main entertainer in this large number of three movies, however the job in Shiraz was that of 'the other lady'.
Three of her other fruitful movies, Durgesh Nandini, Kapal Kundala and Krishnakanter Will depended on well known books of Bankim Chandra Chatterjee.
Many accepted that Renee Smith and her sister Percy Smith on the other hand showed up as 'Seeta Devi'.
