Shashikala
Shashikala Saigal (née Jawalkar; 4 August 1932 – 4 April 2021),better known by her first name, was an Indian film and television actress, who played supporting roles in hundreds of Bollywood films beginning in the 1940s.
Early years
Shashikala Jawalkar was one of six youngsters brought into the world in Solapur, Maharashtra to a Hindu Bhavsar Shimpi station Marathi talking family. By age 5, she had proactively been moving, singing and following up on stage in numerous towns in Solapur region. At the point when Shashikala was in her pre-teenagers, through sick karma, her dad became bankrupt, and he carried his family to Bombay (presently Mumbai), where they believed that Shashikala, the most attractive and most-gifted among his kids, could look for a job in motion pictures. For quite a while, the family lived with companions and scarcely made due, while Shashikala meandered starting with one studio then onto the next searching for work. She acquired in pieces and pieces till she met Noor Jehan, the supreme screen sovereig.
Noor Jehan's better half Shaukat Hussain Rizvi, was making the film Zeenat then, at that point, and remembered Shashikala for a Qawwali scene. She worked with Shammi Kapoor in film Daku (1955).[6] She battled on and got little jobs in films made by P. N. Arora, Amiya Chakravarti, and a couple of different makers. She originally rose to popularity with her part in Hindi film Pugdi (1948) delivered by Prem Narayan Arora. She got jobs in V. Shantaram's High schooler Batti Roast Raasta (1953) and a couple of different motion pictures. While in her mid twenties, Shashikala met and wedded Om Prakash Saigal, who had a place with the Kundan Lal Saigal family, and has two little girls
Acclaimed supporting jobs
In 1959, she showed up in Bimal Roy's Sujata. In Tarachand Barjatya's Aarti (1962), featuring Meena Kumari, Ashok Kumar, and Pradeep Kumar, Shashikala depicted a negative job, ultimately winning a Filmfare Award.Soon later, offers started to pour in to her for supporting jobs. She showed up in Anupama, Phool Aur Patthar, Ayi Milan Ki Bela,Gumrah, Waqt, and Khubsoorat. She played a negative person in Chhote Sarkar (1974)starring Shammi Kapoor and Sadhana. While her female lead co-stars generally assumed parts of laid back, unassuming, or devout ladies, Shashikala typically played either unusual and spunky effervescent ladies or vamps who plotted the destruction of others. Later in her acting profession, she would regularly assume the part of a sister or mother by marriage. In 80s her acclaimed exhibitions came in films like Phir Wahi Raat, Souten, Sargam. She acted in supporting jobs in excess of 100 movies.
