Storyline

Amar (Rajesh Khanna) and Prem (Prem Chopra) are school amigos, while Asha (Babita) and Shobana (Nazma) become companions. Relationships are organized; there is a hitch. Settlement is requested. For Prem's situation his more established sibling, who had settled never to request share, is obliged to do as such to empower Prem to purchase his air pass to the US for higher examinations. Ramprasad, Asha's father neglects to appear for the wedding with the concurred aggregate, and the wedding is dropped, without a second to spare. The astounding thing is that Asha's pledged never has seen or met Asha, just his folks had. Faithful child that he will be, he permits his father to direct his activities, and trusts his folks have pursued the ideal choice. Prem on his return from the USA has changed for the more terrible; he takes to drinking, dismisses his significant other and turns into an office hunter, following his secretary. She is enamored with Amar, yet needs the task to assist with taking care of an obligation caused when her dad disappeared, along with the finance cash he had removed from the bank for his manager. Asha gamely tolerates the work environment badgering, with a secret plan of fixing things for Shobana's marriage. An intricate act results to show Prem a thing or two in shame. When he bombs in temptation, is kidnapping the main choice?

Amar carries on with a working class life in India with his oft-basic father, Basantlal and his mother, a housewife. At the point when Basantlal chooses to get Amar hitched to Ramprasad's little girl, Amar acknowledges this.
